HONORS CHEMISTRY

 

     1.August 21

        General information was covered in class

2.       August 25, 2009

Gave out books.  Picked up documents.  Introduced to chemistry.  Set off The Works Bomb.  Started lab.

3.       August 27

Introduce the metric system and worked on meters, grams, and liters.  Worked on lab equipment and got ready for the lab equipment quiz.

4.       August 31, 2009

B-2 completed prefixes on the metric system and what they stood for numerically.  B-3 moved on to conversion factors and practiced using 1in = 2.54Cm  to convert units.

      5.  September 2    

            Quizzed on Forms of Matter.  Covered conversion factors to online activity in B-2.  In B-3 practiced online activity and handed out      computers.

5.       September 4    

Completed conversion factors online,  Applied conversion factors to the metric system.  We need more practice next time.

6.       September 9    

Practiced conversion factors.  Worked on scientific notation.

7.       September 11  

Finished scientific notation.  Worked on density and began density lab in B-3.

8.       September 15  

Reviewed metrics and density.  Corrected the last two electronic sheets.  Finished lab on density.

9.       September 17  

Quizzed on scientific method and density.  Worked on significant figures and will finish next time.

10.   September 21  

         We finished significant figures and finished the lab on density.

11.   September 23

          We covered temperature and graphing.  Quizzed on significant figures.

12.   September 25 

          We quizzed on temperature.  Completed a lab on graphing and practiced significant figures on line.

13.   September 29   

          We watched a video on the scientists involved in laying the foundation for Einstein’s Theory.

14.   October 1  

Quizzed on graphing.  Reviewed for Chapter One Test.

15.   October 6

Took Chapter One Test

16.   October 8
