ENGLISH DEPT.  COMMON EXPECTATIONS

No electronic devices (cell phones, PDAs, iPods, etc.) are allowed in class.

Final drafts should be in MLA style (format and citations) unless otherwise specified by the individual teacher.  Here is a helpful style guide in .pdf format.

Analytic writing (especially about literature) should be in 3rd person and present tense.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will be penalized (see student handbook).

Late work will be penalized (penalties given according to each individual teacher's policy).

No computer, printer, or other technology excuses are acceptable.
