Homework:
Instructions
and assignments will be given each class period. Class time will be spent completing these
assignments. No at-home-keyboarding is
required since you will not have access to the books or software. The student is responsible for getting the
material missed and making up work for any excused absence. If you are absent,
you should plan to spend some time before or after school to keep on schedule.
This should be done by the next class period you attend. Make-up work/test from excused absences will
only be accepted for 2 class periods after the absence. No late assignments will be accepted. TESTS AND ASSIGNMENTS MISSED BECAUSE OF
AN UNEXCUSED ABSENCE MAY NOT BE MADE UP.
Attendance:
A major determining factor regarding the student’s success in this
class. Since there is little
homework outside of class, daily attendance and participation are a must. The
Attendance Policy of the school will be strictly enforced at all times.
Each day a student attends and works in class, they will be awarded 10 participation points. If a student is tardy, they will receive only 5 participation points. If a student comes in late, it is his/her responsibility to guarantee the absence is changed to a tardy by leaving a note on the teacher’s desk or reminding the teacher in person at the end of class. Students who are more than 15 minutes tardy will not receive any participation points for that day. At the teacher’s discretion, points may be withheld for classroom disturbances, violation of rules, inappropriate behavior, or any lack of participation.
Discipline:
I
attend class to teach and you attend class to learn. It is important that the following rules be
observed:
Be to class on time with materials needed for class, you may
not go back to locker for forgotten materials.
Teachers
phone is not for students use, please do not ask to use it!!!
Remain
in class until you are dismissed, leaving class without permission will be
reported to the attendance office and marked as being truant, along with no
points for the class that day and they may not be made up.
Be respectful and cooperative at all times, do not
talk while I am talking or when others are addressing the class, during
announcements, or test. Talking during
inappropriate time will result in a loss of participation points for the
day. Talking during a test will result
in a zero on the test and you will not be allowed to make up those points
Discipline
or behavior problems with students will be handled one on one with the
teacher. Problems of a serious nature
will be referred to the administration.
Problems in any of the above areas may result in loss of classroom
privileges. All Discipline Policies of
the school will be strictly enforced at all times.
The
computers are expensive machines. Do not
write on the books, desks, computers, or anything else. Do not leave your papers on the desks. Clean up your work area. Food and drinks are not allowed in this
computer lab. The TV will be turned on
only for classroom instructions or at the request of the administration. Students who need to leave the class for any
reason must be given a hall pass. Any
deliberate act of vandalism will automatically be referred to the
administration. Any accidental breakage
of equipment because of careless actions on a student’s part,
