BIO INFO:
Mr. Browning graduated from BYU in 1994 with a BS in Special Education and Psychology. He took a teaching job in North Central Montana. In the small district he was the entire special education department (teacher, tester, aide, etc.) and learned a lot about special education law and practice.
After teaching for two years in Montana he returned to the Independence High School to teach the Youth in Custody class. Soon after Provo District made him the director of their Truancy program - a pilot program aimed at reducing truancy. Within a year he was asked to oversee the education program at then newly built Slate Canyon Juvenile Detention facility.
He was accepted into the BYU Leadership Preparation Program in 1998 and completed the program with his Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 1999. He accepted an assistant principal position in Alpine School District at Mountain Ridge Junior High in 1999 and loved his opportunity to work with junior high students. In 2002 he was asked to work as the Director of Special Education for Secondary schools for the district where he had the opportunity to further his knowledge of Special Education law and practice.
In 2005 he accepted the opportunity to work here at THS as one of our assistant principals. He loves working with high school students and feels very lucky to be a part of such a great school. It is his goal to help students be successful in completing their graduation requirement and preparing for life as competent, caring and responsible adults.
