Dear Accreditation Team,
Welcome to Timpanogos
High School. It is a distinct pleasure to have you here
with us as we complete preparations for our journey over the next six
years. It has been an invigorating
process as we have spent the last year and a half taking an in-depth look at
what we do, how we do it, and how we might do it better. As Jim Collins states in his book Good To Great, we have, at times, needed to confront brutal
facts and assess our frame of reference with regard to our educational
programs. This process has enabled our
educational community – students, parents, staff, and administration to
critically analyze, dialogue, and suggest ways to sustain the positive aspects
of our programs while proposing actions that would address areas that we feel
need improvement.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the existence of Timpanogos High School. In those ten years, we have established many
traditions. Our programs, both academic
and extra-curricular, have become well known and are respected in our
community, the school district, and throughout the state. As a ‘Community Of One – Striving For
Excellence’ all of the stakeholders understand and believe that continuous
evaluation of our programs is necessary
if we are to maintain progress towards the standards of excellence that we want
all students to achieve. We, therefore,
are appreciative of the accreditation process.
Our goal in producing this report has not been to have a
showy or all-inclusive document. Our
goal, rather, has been to clearly and concisely communicate (for ourselves as
well as the visiting team) essential facts and ideas regarding the demanding
but meaningful process we are effecting in our continuous-improvement journey.
We welcome you as participating members of our educational
community, and appreciate your time and effort in our behalf. We look forward your input and insight that
we know will assist us in improving the education that our students receive at
Timpanogos.
Sincerely,
Brad Kendall
